Pokhara Avengers have signed American wicketkeeper and batter, Andries Gous, for the Nepal Premier League (NPL). He becomes the first foreign player to join the NPL.
The NPL is set to take place from November 30 to December 20, and Pokhara has announced the signing of the 30-year-old player. The right-handed batter had previously played in South Africa during his age-group career.
Gous has scored 598 runs in 20 international matches for the USA. In three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) for the USA, he scored 152 runs. He made his debut for the USA in 2024 against Canada, representing the American team.
Pokhara Avengers’ owner, Subodh Tripathi, wished Gous the best for his performance. Gous, playing in a league in Nepal for the first time, expressed his excitement.
Earlier, the team had appointed Rajiv Kumar, who has previously represented Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL), as the head coach. Kumar has been the batting and fielding coach for Chennai Super Kings.
Kushal Bhurtel, an opening batter from Nepal’s national cricket team, is the marquee player for Pokhara Avengers.
